Patrick Godfre Rudy, 33, of Livingston died Friday morning May 28, 2010, in a car accident on I-90 in Bozeman. He was the owner of Rudy’s Auto Works of Livingston, President of the Gallatin Valley Men’s Adult Baseball League, and administrator of MontanaHardball.net . Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Lindley Park in Bozeman, MT. All are welcome to attend. A time of remembrance will follow locally. The family would like all to dress casually to reflect a celebration of Patrick’s life. Arrangements are through Dokken-Nelson in Bozeman. Born at home on September 18, 1976 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Patrick was an avid Red’s fan the rest of his life. He was raised in Troy, Ohio until age 12 when he moved to Livingston, Montana in the family school bus. At age 14 Patrick moved to Southern California where he lived until he went to school in Arizona. Patrick showed an early aptitude with computers and mechanics, and both served him well with advanced skill in automotive computer diagnostics. He graduated from Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, Arizona in 1998 with an associate degree in automotive and diesel mechanics. After several years of work in Phoenix and LA shops, Patrick moved back to Livingston and worked at Dick Walter’s Auto Center and then J.C. Billion in Bozeman, advancing to the service desk to manage other mechanics. From 2001 to 2008, Patrick was husband to Amanda Harms who had previously been his partner for several years. In 2006, Patrick opened his own business, Rudy’s Auto Works, on E. Park Street in Livingston. Recently closing his shop in Livingston, he accepted a position as a service technician in Bozeman to begin in June, an opportunity for more time to pursue the things he loved. Those who knew Patrick experienced his extraordinary service ethic, his exceptional music abilities, and his talents in billiards, golf and baseball. Patrick was sponsor and coach for the Livingston Cubs, playing 1st base, 3rd base, catching and pitching with his team winning the League championship more than once. Patrick is survived by his mother, Barbara Wade of Bozeman; stepfather George Wade of Oregon; his father, Christopher Rudy (Gloria Thiede) of Livingston; his stepmother, Mary Rudy (James Vollbracht) of Tucson; one sister, Naomi Coey (Ed) of Bozeman; two brothers, Gabriel Rudy (Erin) of Salt Lake City; Jeremy Rudy (Heather Hazzan) of Phoenix; a niece, Ally Coey, and a nephew, Evan Coey of Bozeman; his former wife and friend, Amanda Harms and her family, Sondra, Tom, and Lindsey Harms of Livingston; his grandfather, Robert Rudy (Helen) of Alabama; his grandparents, Richard and Marge Lebrun of Canada; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Grace Rudy; his maternal grandfather, Pat Morrison; his maternal grandmother, Martha Morrison; and his aunt, Phoebe McBee. 'm a mechanic. I'm a ballplayer. I run, coach and play in an amateur baseball league. I'm a huge Cincinnati Reds fan. I play music, guitar and bass, but I don't play enough.” You were music to our lives Patrick and we’ll miss your loving spirit.
