The Value of Prescript-Assist™

Many years ago, the natural health pioneer Bernard Jensen proclaimed, "death begins in the colon." A morbid truth, yet pointedly factual, and critical to attaining good health in today’s supersized world of substandard nutrition.  The “Standard American Diet” (SAD) of nutrition-stripped and chemical-laced “food” has serious side-effects; it corrupts the colon, poisons the blood, burdens the liver and – if we don’t take care of the colon – can dramatically afflict the quality of life.  To understand why, read the following article.

The Value of Cleansing

Many years ago, the natural health pioneer Bernard Jensen proclaimed, "death begins in the colon." A morbid truth, yet pointedly factual, and critical to attaining good health in today’s supersized world of processed foods and environmental attacks. That phrase still characterizes a philosophy shared by many nutritionists and natural health experts around the world. With good reason.

It is in the colon where the end products of digestion collect, readying for excretion. The colon is a hot bed of toxicity from environmental, digestive, and metabolic wastes and pathogens like bacteria, viruses, and parasites that the liver has failed to neutralize. In countless cases, the toxic overload does not exit the system—ever! It can collect for days, weeks, months, years, or an entire lifetime!

Toxins that are not excreted settle and attach themselves on the lining of the colon, steadily diminishing the body’s ability to effectively absorb vital, life-promoting nutrients. Remaining toxins are reabsorbed into the system by entering the blood. The liver constantly attempts to detoxify them, often without success. Then the toxins snowball in our tissues, particularly fat stores, causing a greater level of toxicity and creating prime sites for cancer-causing cell mutations.

In all too many unfortunate cases, the toxic buildup also leads to chronic free radical damage, heart disease, inflammatory conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, and inadequate blood flow throughout the body, especially the brain. This frequently causes depression, diminished mental function and memory loss.

Today’s diet is a major destructive force behind most diseases and shortened longevity. With labels that read like graduate biochemistry textbook copy, processed foods of all types are charged up with a plethora of additives, chemicals, preservatives and colorings that present an ongoing, relentless and formidable challenge to the incredible human food processing system.

Long-term accumulations of undigested food, endotoxins, ecotoxins, unfriendly organisms, and the decreasing efficiency of the system causes gut dysbiosis—abdominal distress, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, a predisposition to diverticulosis and diverticulitis -- creating an opportunistic environment for bad-boy bacteria, viruses, and parasites to wreak internal havoc.

Problems that arise from inadequate detoxification and internal cleansing of the digestive tract are just a piece of the equation. The rest of the body’s detoxification ability falls upon the other six channels of elimination. All this adds up to a clear cue to treat the body to a periodic cleanup of the funky biological mess that lies within.
